Trains stucks near Manpur station in Gaya, Rail track breaks

Rail track broke down at around 12 o’clock on Saturday night near the starter in the down line near Manpur station of Gaya-Koderma rail section. Due to this, the operation of trains was hampered for about two and a half hours. Many trains including Patna-Ranchi express, Patna-Dhanbad Gangadamodar express were standing at Gaya Junction. Also, New Delhi-Puri Nilanchal Express and Agra Canton Manpur and Shaheed Ishwar stayed with Chaudhari Halt.

After about two o’clock, the trains were started after the rail track was fixed.

Unusual incident avoided

Railway sources said that Track Man posted on duty in the Rail Track saw that the rail track between Manpur Down Starter and Advance Starter was broken. He immediately got the information and gave it to Manpur station.

Accelerated action was taken on information and the Nilanchal Express and Agra Cantt Express which were run from Gaya Junction were stopped near Manpur Home and Shaheed Ishwar Chaudhari Halt. At the same time, the Patna-Ranchi Express which opened at the scheduled time of 12:55 was operated after 1:45 p.m. Ganga-Damodar express was also barred on the nine number platform of Gaya Junction.

Track broken due to weather changes

Station manager B N Prasad said that due to the change in weather, the events of track fracture are happening. The track man has been specially trained on this. Continuous monitoring is going on.
